Each SAP Basis system must be controlled and managed by an administrator. This person is responsible for the smooth operation of the system. This can be an internal administrator or it can be handed over to external service providers.
SAP Basis consultants are experts in consulting. The job of an SAP Basis consultant has many areas of responsibility, such as designing applications, installing support for SAP modules, analyzing and optimizing processes, creating reports, and modeling and extracting data.
Experience in the administration of Windows or Linux server systems, databases or web applications
SAP will provide all SAP Notes in the SAP ONE Support Launchpad digitally signed. This is to increase the security when the updates are loaded. If you have unsigned SAP hints, there is a risk that the notice has been changed unnoticed and malicious code will be added to your SAP system when you install the notice. This poses a significant threat to the SAP system, which is why the digitally signed provision of the clues is an important improvement. However, to use digitally signed notes in your system, you will need to take a few steps to prepare them. If you install SAPCAR version 7.2 or later and have a user with the necessary permissions, all you have to do is insert the Note 2408073 into your system and do the manual pre- and post-processing. A digital signature technically ensures that any change can be detected at the notice and can be checked by the system to see if the present note, which is to be inserted into the system, is unchanged. Prerequisites to use digitally signed SAP hints To prepare your SAP system for digitally signed clues, you first have to meet some requirements: Digital signed SAP hints are provided as SAR files. The SAR files are unpacked with SAPCAR and checked for their digital signature. SAPCAR must be available on the Application Server in version 7.20 or higher. Therefore, it is strongly advised to update SAPCAR. If SAPCAR is not at least in version 7.20, the digital signature verification fails and the message cannot be unzipped. Installation of the digitally signed clue is then not possible. The implementing user also needs some permissions to perform the necessary manual pre- and post-processing of the note on the system: Authentication for the transaction SLG1 Read permission for the S_APPL_LOG permission to write and delete data from the application directory Upgrade the SAPCAR version on your system to version 7.20 or higher SAP basis version 700 or higher, for older versions the notice must be inserted manually If you have met these requirements, you can use the implementation of note 24080 Start 73. Implementation SAP Note number 2408073.
It is possible to specify a trace level for each rule in the ACL file to monitor each communication channel individually. It can be used with SNC without any further configuration. The use of the file is controlled by the gw/acl_file parameter by simply setting it to the appropriate file name. Use of external programmes If an external programme wants to communicate with your SAP system, it must first register at the gateway. The programmes which this is approved are controlled by the reginfo ACL file. This defines rules that allow or prohibit certain programmes. The syntax of the file allows you to define not only the name of the programme, but also the host on which the programme runs and hosts that can use and exit the programme. The gw/reg_info parameter must be set to use this file. In addition, there is the ACL file secinfo, which allows to configure which users can start an external programme. This defines rules that allow certain usernames from the SAP system to use certain external programmes. In addition, you can also define the hosts on which these programmes will run. For example, it is possible to allow a user to run the programme "BSP" on the host "XYZ", but not on the host "ABC". This file is controlled by the gw/sec_info parameter. Using the gateway as a proxy Since the gateway of your SAP system can also serve as a proxy server, the prxyinfo ACLDatei should also be activated via the gw/prxy_info parameter. Suppose you have 3 SAP systems in your network: SRC, TRG and PRX. If SRC cannot communicate directly with TRG, but both with PRX it would be possible to use the gateway of the PRX system as a proxy server, i.e. to communicate via it. So, in order to prevent this from happening to everyone, this property should be urgently restricted. As with the other ACL files, rules are defined which hosts can communicate with which hosts via the gateway. The syntax of the different ACL files may vary depending on the release level. It is therefore advisable to read them in the appropriate SAP documentation before activating the ACL files. You can also find more support for using ACL files in the SAP Community Wiki.
With "Shortcut for SAP Systems" a tool is available that greatly facilitates some tasks in the SAP basis.
Note: Logging user activity must be aware of the users concerned! Configure the SAL only for technical users or in consultation with users / works council / etc.
Since the log files used as input are sensitive data, of course none of the inserted data leave your system.
