SKILLS & ROLLS
IMPORT_PROPER In this step, the repository and table entries are recorded. There are the following reasons that may lead to the termination of this step: TP_INTERFACE_FAILURE: Unable to call tp interface. TP_FAILURE: The tp programme could not be run. For more information, see the SLOG or ALOG log file. TP_STEP_FAILURE: A tp-Step could not be performed successfully. The cause of the error can be found in the appropriate protocol, for example in the import or generation protocol. If the generation (tp-Step G) is aborted, you can either fix the errors immediately or after the commit is completed. In the latter case, you must do the following: To ignore the generation errors, select Additions Ignore Gen Error. Continue the playback. Buffer synchronisation problems can also cause generation errors. For more information, see Note 40584.
It should be mentioned here that it only makes sense to access the tables by reading the SELECT statement to get a quick view of the results. Using the DBACOCKPIT, it is not possible to create entire table structures using Create Table. For such applications, SAP provides other, better options. Another important point is that once a user has the necessary permissions to use the transaction DBACOCKPIT, it can potentially (with appropriate permissions on the tables) access the entire SAP system. For example, a query can be used to read the entire user table. Therefore, the transaction should always be treated with caution and only awarded to administrators. DBACOCKPIT handles the call control permissions similar to the SE16 / SE16N transaction. When the table is called, the S_TABU_DIS or S_TABU_NAM permission object is checked with a specific activity. This means that only the tables or table permission groups for which the corresponding values in the aforementioned permission objects are assigned can be accessed. You can read more about assigning permissions to individual tables here. In addition, you can save SQL statements that you run once, and run them again at any time to recognise changes in the result set without having to reformulate the SQL statement each time. The editor also allows you to start the query for SQL statements in the background. The result is obtained by calling the transaction SM37, in which the result is output in a spool file.

Depending on whether the user should edit or display the table, either "UPDATE" or "SHOW" can be used here. Enter an X as the value. It is important to use either"'SHOW" or "UPDATE" because a combination will cause an error when calling the parameter transaction. In addition, the table must set the view to be called. Use the "VIEW" field. Finally, the parameter transaction can be created using the "Save" button. As usual, it must be assigned to a package and a workbench order to become available. If a person's role is now assigned permission for this parameter transaction, it can open the specified view above it and does not have the ability to enter all possible views in the SM30.
Avantra recently became available in the Google Cloud Marketplace. It is worth mentioning here that we have fully containerized the deployment of Avantra here, so each component runs in a separate container. For the database, we use Cloud SQL.
"Shortcut for SAP Systems" is a PC application that simplifies or even facilitates many activities in the SAP base.
On a technical level, HANA base administration is simpler than administering previous generations of SAP software, but it requires deeper analysis and strategic insight to modernize your landscape and align your IT and business goals.
As an SAP Basis administrator, you are faced with the challenge of balancing acute daily business and recurring routine tasks.
