Maintain batch job suggestion values
You should then enable the latest version of the hash algorithms by setting the login/password_downwards_compatibility profile parameter to 0. This is required because SAP systems maintain backward compatibility by default. This means that, depending on your base release, either the new hash algorithms will not be used when storing passwords, or additional outdated hash values of passwords will be stored. You should then check to see if there are any old hash values for passwords in your system and delete them if necessary. Use the report CLEANUP_PASSWORD_HASH_VALUES.
If you set the profile parameter dynamically, no users are logged out of the application server. You can prepare maintenance work in good time. The value 2 in the profile parameter does not prevent the login with the emergency user SAP*, if this is not set as user master record and the profile parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar is set to 0. You can also change the value of the parameter again at the operating system level. For details on the SAP user, see Tip 91, "Handling the default users and their initial passwords".
Basic administration
Note that the SAP_NEW_ individual profiles should be retained themselves, so that at any given time, traceability is ensured as to which release and which permission was added. For more information, see SAP Notes 20534, 28175, and 28186. SAP Note 1711620 provides the functionality of an SAP_NEW role that replaces the SAP_NEW profile. If you have added this note, the profile will no longer be used. Instead, you can generate your PFCG role SAP_NEW by using the REGENERATE_SAP_NEW report. When you call the report, in the source and target release selections, type in the appropriate fields, and the role is created for that release difference.
Now the SAP system is basically able to encrypt emails. However, the system still lacks the recipient's public key. You can manage the required public key information in the Trust Manager's address book. You can find the address book in the Transaction STRUST menu under Certificate > Address Book. Here you can import individual certificates by selecting the corresponding certificate in Certificate > Import Certificate. To get the certificates for all relevant users in this address book via a mass import, use the example programme Z_IMPORT_CERTIFICATES appended in SAP Note 1750161 as a template for a custom programme.
For the assignment of existing roles, regular authorization workflows require a certain minimum of turnaround time, and not every approver is available at every go-live. With "Shortcut for SAP systems" you have options to assign urgently needed authorizations anyway and to additionally secure your go-live.
You can find the texts relevant to the permission roles by going to the Translation > ABAP Objects > Short Texts menu.
In such a case, you naturally want to exclude invalid users and those with administrator lock from the selection.
