Define a user group as mandatory field in the user root
Maintain proposed values using trace evaluations
We recommend you to transport all these changes. Basically, you should always make changes to organisation levels on your development system and then transport them. If you use multiple clients, you should note that the organisation levels and the proposed permissions are client-independent data, whereas the roles and profiles in question are client-dependent. If you are using more than one client, you must also run the PFCG_ORGFIELD_ROLES report in the other mandates to determine the roles that the new organisation level will contain. With the help of this report, you must then rearrange all the roles listed in the Status column: Orgebene in Role are indicated in red. You can select these roles and then use the Reduce in Roles button to adjust them to the new organisation level.

If you do not encrypt communication between the client and the application servers, it is surprisingly easy for a third party to catch the username and password. Therefore, make sure you encrypt this interface! There is often uncertainty as to whether the password in SAP systems is encrypted by default and whether there is encryption during communication between the client and application servers by default. This ignorance can lead to fatal security vulnerabilities in your system landscape. We would therefore like to explain at this point how you can secure the passwords in your system and protect yourself against a pick-up of the passwords during transmission.
Important components in the authorization concept
Authorizations are used to map the organizational structure, business processes and separation of functions. Therefore, they control the access options of users in the SAP system. The security of business data depends directly on the authorizations assigned. For this reason, the assignment of authorizations must be well planned and executed in order to achieve the desired security.

You can implement the first request for additional verifications when performing document transactions by using document validation. In this example, we assume that the document is posted through an interface and that you want to check permissions for custom authorization objects and/or certain data constellations. There are different dates for document validation. The complete document can always be validated, if only the information from document header (time 1) or document position (time 2) is available to you, this can also be sufficient depending on the scenario. In such cases, you need to create validation at the appropriate times. Before you can write a User-Exit in a validation, you have to make some preparations.

However, if your Identity Management system is currently not available or the approval path is interrupted, you can still assign urgently needed authorizations with "Shortcut for SAP systems".

For more information on the authorization objects for Records Management and Case Management, see Authorization Concept for Working with Records Management, Authorization Concept for Customizing and Role Maintenance.

To use the trace data from the USOB_AUTHVALTRC table, first go to the change mode and then either click the SAP Data button or select Object > Add Objects from Trace > Local.
