Introduction & Best Practices
Authorization check
In most cases, customizing is performed using transaction SPRO. However, this is only the initial transaction for a very comprehensive tree structure of further maintenance transactions. Most customizing activities, however, consist of indirect or direct maintenance of tables. Therefore, a random check of the authorization structure in this environment can be reduced to table authorizations. In the case of delimited responsibilities within customizing (e.g. FI, MM, SD, etc.), attention should therefore be paid here to an appropriate delimitation within the table authorizations. Independent of assigned transaction authorizations within customizing, a full authorization on table level combined with a table maintenance transaction such as SM30 practically corresponds to a full authorization in customizing. Normal customizing by user departments generally refers to client-specific tables. Access to system tables should therefore be restricted to basic administration if possible.

Identify the user master record in the Active Directory associated with the user ID that you are creating in the SU01 transaction. To do this, search within the Active Directory for a user master set for which the user ID you are looking for is entered as the SAP user name. Next, fill in the transaction SU01 fields with the data from the Active Directory User Set.
SAP license optimization
When displaying or posting receipts in SAP Finance, are the standard eligibility checks insufficient? Use document validation, BTEs, or BAdIs for additional permission checks. The posting of documents, and often their display, is protected by standard permission checks; but they may not meet your requirements.

You can also remove customer-specific organisational levels and convert them to a simple permission field. The report PFCG_ORGFIELD_DELETE serves for this purpose. It removes the permission field from the USORG table and changes the permission proposal values to that field. Finally, it goes through all the rolls that contain a shape to the field. However, it does not restore the old location of the field, because summarised values will no longer be separated when the field is elevated to the organisational level. Instead, the aggregated values are entered separately in each field. The PFCG_ORGFIELD_DELETE report also provides a value aid that shows only the customer's organisational levels. You can also use this value aid to determine all customer-specific organisational levels.

"Shortcut for SAP systems" is a tool that enables the assignment of authorizations even if the IdM system fails.

Of course, this has implications if you want to upgrade a field to the organisation level.

With the Apply button, you can now take the values line by line, column by column, or field by field.
