Maintain transaction start permissions on call CALL TRANSACTION
Existing permissions
Many companies are currently converting their current SAP systems from an ERP state to an SAP S/4HANA system. Through this conversion, many technical and also organizational components come upon the respective companies. The time factor for determining, organizing and implementing the necessary components should not be underestimated. The area of security is often neglected in thought, but can lead to major problems and possibly image-related damage - and resulting financial losses - in retrospect. For this reason, the implementation of a comprehensive authorization concept should be considered as early as possible in the project phase, as several components are intertwined here.

You have already created roles for SAP CRM and would like to add additional external services? Nothing easier than that! Create PFCG roles for the SAP CRM Web Client, typically so that you complete the customising of the CRM business role before creating the PFCG role, based on this customising. However, the customising of the CRM business role may be updated. The PFCG role must now also be adjusted, otherwise the newly configured area start pages or the logical links will not be visible. However, there is no automatism for this, as it exists during the initial creation of the role menu. You must apply the adjustment manually in the PFCG role.
Maintaining Authorization Objects (Transaction SU21)
Another special feature of the role menu is the maintenance of object-based navigation. If a call to a transaction has been executed through a button in a Web Dynpro application, you must make the Object-based Navigation settings for the transaction to call. To do this, select the appropriate item in the (F4) Help. You may need to ask the developer of the application for navigation information.

In compliance with the minimum principle and the separation of functions, the roles used must be defined, along with specifications for their naming, structure and use. Close attention should also be paid to the application and allocation process in order to prevent authorization conflicts, which arise primarily as a result of employees' changing or expanding areas of responsibility.

If you get into the situation that authorizations are required that were not considered in the role concept, "Shortcut for SAP systems" allows you to assign the complete authorization for the respective authorization object.

Auditor documentation is often standardised in the case of external auditors; for the internal audit or your own monitoring, however, in many cases a suitable documentation is missing.

With regard to the SAP authorization system, roles and the associated authorization objects, fields and values represent the foundation.
