Maintaining Authorization Objects (Transaction SU21)
Edit Old Stand
Do you need to integrate the S_TABU_NAM authorization object into your existing permission concept? In this tip, we show you the steps that are necessary to do this - from maintaining the suggestion values to an overview of the eligible tables. You have added the S_TABU_NAM authorization object to your permission concept, so that users can access the tables not only through the S_TABU_DIS authorization object, but also through S_TABU_NAM. This directly regulates access to the tables via table permission groups or, if access is not allowed through table permission groups, via the table permission (see Tip 73, "Use table editing authorization objects"). Do you want to identify the tables or created parameter transactions that allow access to only specific tables to maintain SU24 for these suggested values in the transaction? This makes it easier to maintain PFCG roles. Furthermore, a tool would be useful to give you an overview of the tables for which a user is entitled.

The view of the executable transactions may differ from the transactions for which the user has permissions, because the RSUSR010 report displays only the transactions that are actually executable. Not only does the transaction need to be started by the S_TCODE authorization object, but the following conditions must also be met: For certain transactions, there are additional permission checks that are performed before the transaction starts. These eligibility objects are then additionally entered in the transaction SE93 (Table TSTCA). For example, queries against the P_TCODE, Q_TCODE, or S_TABU_DIS authorization objects. The transaction code must be valid (i.e. entered in the TSTC table) and must not be locked by the system administrator (in the SM01 transaction).

You have already created roles for SAP CRM and would like to add additional external services? Nothing easier than that! Create PFCG roles for the SAP CRM Web Client, typically so that you complete the customising of the CRM business role before creating the PFCG role, based on this customising. However, the customising of the CRM business role may be updated. The PFCG role must now also be adjusted, otherwise the newly configured area start pages or the logical links will not be visible. However, there is no automatism for this, as it exists during the initial creation of the role menu. You must apply the adjustment manually in the PFCG role.

Careful maintenance of suggestion values in the relevant authorization objects results in recurring benefits in creating and revising roles for Web applications. In addition, the SU25 transaction supports role post-processing in the context of SAPUpgrades.

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".

We advise you to define only one object with all relevant fields, as this will facilitate the maintenance of permissions.

These vulnerabilities can also be used for an attack.
